On Sunday 29 November we start off the holiday season at Beaucatcher with the opening of our gift drive for Solace Women’s Aid Maggie‘s popular Embrace the Grey presentation and an opportunity to meet our current artist, Sara McLaughlin. All this and live music from Rasp Thorne and Peter Moriarty are sure to get the season started in fine style.
The schedule for the day is:
Message In A Bauble launch (all day): Beaucatcher asks our clients to bring in a seasonal gift suitable for women or children for us to pass on to the domestic violence charity Solace Women’s Aid in our fourth annual gift drive. In exchange, choose a bauble from our Christmas tree and discover the message inside. Prizes include free haircuts, money off vouchers for hair services and products, and much more — every bauble wins a prize! You can read more about Solace Women’s Aid and Message In A Bauble here.
Embrace the Grey (4pm): Maggie will make a presentation as part of her popular series of talks and demonstrations of how to live with and love your grey hair.
Sara McLaughlin reception (6pm): An opportunity to meet the artist and celebrate her exhibition The Hens Of Stamford Hill which currently decorates the salon walls.
Live music from Rasp Thorne and Peter Moriarty (7.30pm): The duo present a selection of original songs, some old, some new, arranged for vocals, piano, acoustic guitar and clarinet. They traverse the usual, blasé themes of sex and death and unrequited love alongside literally cutting-edge fare such as sharks sharpening their teeth in beauty salons and look forward to playing their sophomore gig at the very suiting Beaucatcher.
Close: 9pm.
